  • Discipline:Writer
  • Program Year:Directing Lab 2003, Screenwriting Lab 2003

Bio

Born and raised in Cameroon, Victor studied Math at Louisiana State University before pursuing Fiction at the University of Miami, Coral Gables. But it is at USC’s School of Cinema/Television that he realized his ultimate dream of shooting a film about his childhood experiences in Africa. Mboutoukou, a 2002 Student Academy Awards nominee and a ten times award winner, tells the
story of a 12 year old boy who sets out to prove himself by trying to lure termites out of a termitary. An important source of Mboutoukou’s funding were scholarships Victor won at USC — the Kelts Trust Award and the Edward Small Directing Award. In six months, the film has played in over forty festivals in the US and abroad including Venice International Film Festival in Italy, International Film Festival Rotterdam, Woodstock, and AFI: LA Fest. Victor is a recent participant in the Berlin International Film Festival’s first ever Berlinale Talent Campus.
