Tenolian Bell was born in St. Louis, Missouri. He attended Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia where he majored in Mass Communication with an emphasis in filmmaking. He later moved to New York City and attended The City College of New York, gaining his MFA in 2001. He now works bi-coastally between New York and Los Angeles shooting independent films, music videos, and documentaries.
