After being selected as a fellow for the inaugural class of the Sundance Institute’s Creative Producer Initiative, Lin produced Take Shelter, directed by Jeff Nichols and starring Michael Shannon and Jessica Chastain. The film premiered at the 2011 edition of Sundance before going on to win the Grand Prize at the Cannes Film Festival Critics Week. Released by Sony Pictures Classics, Take Shelter was nominated for two Gotham Awards and five Film Independent Spirit Awards, and was named one of the Top 10 Independent Films of the Year by the National Board of Review.
More recently, Lin was named one of Variety’s Ten Producers to Watch and one of The Wrap’s Ten Producers Who Will Change Hollywood. She also won the 2012 Piaget Producers Award at the Film Independent Spirit Awards, which recognizes an emerging producer who demonstrates the creativity, tenacity, and vision required to produce quality independent films.
Lin’s latest production is Compliance, Craig Zobel’s second feature film, which premiered at Sundance 2012 to great controversy and acclaim. Currently in theaters from Magnolia Pictures, Compliance has received outstanding reviews from The New York Times, the New Yorker, and Salon.com among others.
