Rita Baghdadi is an Emmy-winning Moroccan-American filmmaker known for her intimate, character-driven documentaries. Sirens premiered at Sundance 2022, won Outfest’s Grand Jury Prize and was praised as “utterly charming,” “smartly crafted” and “narrative perfection.” The film was distributed theatrically across the U.S and is now available on VOD. Other films include Finding the Light (Disney+ 2024), My Country No More (Independent Lens 2019) and City Rising (2018), which won an Emmy for Best Social Issue Film. Currently Rita is filming Stallions in Morocco. She is a 2024 Concordia Fellow, a 2023 Sundance Momentum Fellow and is represented by WME.
