Bio

Ophira Dagan is an entertainment veteran studio executive and producer for more than 17 years. As credited producer of over 30 films, documentaries and TV programs, Ms. Dagan has leveraged international financing and production schemes to create and produce award-winning content.

Ms. Dagan’s career started in the early ’90s in Israel, where she was a critical player in launching network and cable television. At Israel’s first cable company, ICP, she helped develop, brand and market Channels Three and Six. She then went on to produce The Flying Class, a daily live entertainment show that became the most successful program for adolescents in Israel’s history. Subsequently, she went on to produce high-profile shows for the networks, including Prime Time, No Limits, a lifestyle magazine hosted by MTV Europe’s Eden Harel, and the acclaimed series Chamber Quintet, a poignant and edgy satire of Israeli life which garnered a Rose d’Or (The European Emmy equivalent Award).

In 1997, Ms. Dagan became a Development Executive at The United Studios of Israel, which was the largest studio in the country at that time. There, she developed TV programming that became staples for network TV in Israel, some of which are still on the air. Ms. Dagan was also part of an executive team that was aimed at business development and expansion of the studio, which she was involved in until her last day in Israel. Later, she was appointed to the Head of Documentary and Alternative Programming at the studios, where she was in charge of creative selection, acquisition, financing, and co-production. Under her tenure, she oversaw a wide variety of television shows and documentary films including the international award-winning A Sea Of Tears, Life For Land, Midnight Ramallah, Life As A Proverb, White Rosa, Home Court, Intimate Report and many more.

In 2002, Ms. Dagan moved to New York City. In 2004, she teamed up with HoriZen Global, a real estate company to form the company’s film investment arm. Ms. Dagan went on to produce The Technical Writer and Swimmers under this banner, both of which were official Sundance Film Festival selections. Swimmers also won a number of awards, including a nomination for the highly regarded Humanitas Prize.

In 2007 Ms. Dagan founded FrameWork Pictures, a production company dedicated to developing and creating content across multiple platforms. Currently based in Los Angeles, FrameWork Pictures is now developing an original HBO dramatic television series that Ms. Dagan will be producing with Ben Affleck and Curt Schilling (former pitcher – Boston Red Sox). She is also developing the television drama Wedding House, developed with UK production house Tiger Aspect. In addition, she is also producing Love Marriage, a British romantic comedy slated to shoot in early 2012.

Ms. Dagan simultaneously retains her services to advise companies with their film investments and international strategies. In 2010, she joined JuntoBox Films, a revolutionary collaborative film studio integrated with a social media platform. Ms. Dagan is mostly responsible for business development, strategic alliances, film finance, and international expansion.

She is also often invited to be a delegate in international film festivals and conferences.

Ms. Dagan as a BSC in business management with a concentration in marketing from Tel Aviv (Champlain) University.
