Nihaarika is an internationally acclaimed part-tribal Interdisciplinary artist from India, known for her work in film/theatre/live art/new media. By merging genre elements with contemporary performance, folktale and magical realism – she makes work that celebrates our imaginative potential for healing and change. A Berlinale Talent 2021 and a USC Stark Graduate, her work has been awarded the XR Market Award at New Images XR Festival (France), been supported by Sundance +WIF, Venice Biennale, IFFR’s Cinemart, Breaking Through the Lens at TIFF and BFI’s Film Markets, UK Arts Council, CNC and been distributed globally by Amazon Prime and Disney+ Hotstar.
