Bio

Michelle Lawler is a Los Angeles-based cinematographer/director who has worked in film and television since 1999. In 2009, she directed a feature documentary called Forever’s Gonna Start Tonight, which received a Frameline completion grant and has won numerous audience awards including Outfest 2010 (Los Angeles). Lawler has shot several short films and recently completed two feature films including Wildness directed by Wu Tsang and Best Friends Forever starring and directed by Brea Grant. Lawler received a BFA in cinema from San Francisco State University and in 2012 graduated from the American Film Institute (AFI) with an MFA in Cinematography.
