Bio

Michael Urban is a screenwriter and instructor at the American Film Institute. After receiving his Bachelors degrees in Art History and German Language from Florida State University, he moved to Los Angeles to begin his career as a writer. Furthering his studies at the American Film Institute, he graduated in 2000 with an MFA in Screenwriting. His first feature film Saved! (co-written with Brian Dannelly) was produced by MGM/UA in 2004. He has since completed writing assignments for several major film and television studios including 20th Century Fox, Sony Pictures, HBO, Lionsgate, and Carsey-Werner. Most recently he began writing a feature project for Plan B/Paramount (co-written with director Jacob Estes). Difficult Child is his first solo writing project.
