Bio

Margaret Chandra Kerrison was born in Indonesia and raised in Singapore. She got her first taste of screenwriting at Emerson College’s Screenwriting Certificate Program where her feature script Blank Canvas won the annual Excellence in Screenwriting Award. She recently graduated from USC’s graduate screenwriting program where she was awarded the Josh Schwartz Scholarship for her original TV pilot Sister Wong. Kerrison was recently named a finalist for the New Writers Award by the Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment for her feature script Empress Wu, inspired by the true life story of the only female emperor of China. Kerrison has generated science and technology stories as a researcher and associate producer for the new PBS science education series Wired Science, produced in collaboration with Wired Magazine. In addition to being a writer, Kerrison is also an avid painter and traveler.
