Maggie Kiley

Bio

Chosen as one of eight directors for the American Film Institute’s Directing Workshop for Women and one of twenty accomplished filmmakers in the Inaugural Global Directors Initiative at FOX, Maggie Kiley made the transition from acting to directing with her award winning short film “some boys don’t leave”. The film stars Jesse Eisenberg and Eloise Mumford and played over 50 festivals, garnering top honors at Tribeca and Palm Springs.

Kiley received the Panavision New Filmmaker Grant for her debut feature, Brightest Star. The film stars Chris Lowell, Rose McIver and Alison Janney and premiered at the 2013 Austin Film Festival. Gravitas Ventures released the film theatrically in 15 cities and on all VOD/ streaming platforms in early 2014. The film has gone on to play in 50 international territories and been subtitled in 18 languages.

Kiley’s second film as writer/director, Dial a Prayer, stars Brittany Snow and William H Macy. Dial a Prayer released theatrically and on all VOD/streaming platforms in spring of 2015. Most recently, Kiley completed the thriller Caught starring Anna Camp for Mar Vista Entertainment, marking an impressive three features in just three years. Caught world premiered at the 2015 LA Film Festival as one of eight films in competition in the genre section: Nightfall and was later acquired by Lifetime.

Kiley is a proud member of the filmmaking collective Film Fatales. She is attached to direct Eyal Alony’s Skin Deep as well as Alissa Dean’s Cricket with producers Lynn Hendee and Bill Chartoff.

Logline

In Skin Deep, two teenage girls cast a spell that makes them incrementally more attractive. The catch? It only works when they hurt people. As the never-ending quest for beauty consumes them, these two best friends will maim, mutilate, and mangle their way to perfection. And only one of them will be left standing.
