Luis Ivan Garcia was born and raised in a small town called Santa Cruz in Sonora, Mexico. It was there he became inspired by the human condition and began expressing his creativity through various visual mediums. He returned to his hometown to shoot his short film Tortilla. The film has screened in many film festivals including D.C. International Short Film Festival, where he won the Audience Choice Award, and the Short Shorts Film Festival, where he walked away with the Best Director award.

Garcia is in the midst of releasing his second short film Dopo La Morte into the festival circuit. He is also in pre-production for Trochil, a film about a woman who is consumed by her ego and makes a decision that will turn her life upside down. Additionally he is finishing two feature length scripts.
