Bio

Kyle Henry’s feature fiction debut Room premiered at both the Sundance and Cannes Directors’ Fortnight festivals, and was nominated for two Film Independent Spirit Awards. His recent short “Fourplay: Tampa” premiered at Cannes Directors’ Fortnight and Sundance, and was part of the Fourplay feature anthology, executive produced by Michael Stipe and Jim McKay, which toured internationally and received limited theatrical distribution. His feature documentary University Inc., about the corporatization of higher education, and American Cowboy, about a gay rodeo champ, received wide festival play, with the former touring colleges and universities throughout North America as part of Michael Moore and Richard Linklater’s McCollege Tour. Henry is also the editor of the Sundance/Tribeca/SXSW award-winning fiction feature Manito and ten documentary features including the Emmy Award winner Where Soldiers Come From, for which he also won a Best Editing award at SXSW. He also teaches film production at Northwestern University.

In Wild Nights, a young Emily Dickinson falls dangerously in love, only to discover her beloved older brother, Austin, has fallen for the same mysterious woman. As her youthful ideals collide with reality, she learns the meaning of love, loss, independence, and compromise.
