Bio

Jana Diaz Juhl received her bachelor’s degree in Communication from the Complutense University of Madrid. She received an Erasmus Scholarship to Study at the Vrije University in Brussels where she also studied Film production at the Ritz Visual Art School. In Spain, she produced and co-directed the mocumentary Margot Davara: the Biography, and the feature length documentary Otros Datos de Interes, both of which were special selections at the Valladolid International Film Festival and the Documenta Madrid Festival. Diaz also participated in various alternative-communication oriented projects, including the multinational E.U founded Noticiero Intercultural. She has been involved in numerous short films, including the DGA winner Ida y Vuelta, the Student Emmy award winner El Americano and the made for Showtime film The Invitation. She currently works at the Los Angeles-based production company, Cinatico Productions, developing a slate of projects as well as producing the feature film On the Run. Her other credits include associate producer on the Mexican feature film Anima, and coordinator for the Los Angeles Latino Film Festival. She has also coordinated the NALIP’s signature program Latino Media Market in 2009. Diaz recently received a grant from the Spanish Cultural Minister to develop and direct her short film La Siesta.
