With an upbringing immersed in the arts, it was no surprise to aspiring film executive, Jamilah Alston, that she would end up working in film. She landed herself at UCLA where she obtained her MFA in Screenwriting. It was in her first workshop there that an instructor stated, “that’s an executive note.” It was then that she realized what she wanted to become. It is her desire to bring forth films that are widely variant, that reach out and touch the soul and hopefully, inspire another little girl to go after her dreams with undeniable courage and voracity.
