Bio

Jamie Sisley will soon be premiering Farewell, Ferris Wheel, his first feature documentary as a director, which won the TAA Creative Promise Award from the Tribeca Film Institute. The film received funding from Latino Public Broadcasting, ITVS, and the Tribeca Film Institute. His short films include: Kiss of Mint, Ladybug, and Ear.Nose.Eye. Prior to film, Sisley spent six years as a manager in the music industry. He received a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Virginia and is currently pursuing an M.F.A. in Film at Columbia University, where he won the Jesse Thompkins III Emerging Storyteller Award and was nominated for the prestigious Princess Grace Award.

Farewell, Ferris Wheel explores the dual morality of the H-2B seasonal migrant work visa through the lens of the American Carnival and a Mexican town that provides one third of the labor that staffs the carnivals.
