Haohao Yan is a Chinese director and screenwriter. Her works aim to explore the emotional needs of the individuals besieged by an ominous collective living. She received her MFA in directing from the American Film Institute Conservatory with the Schaffner Fellow Award. Her film The Speech premiered at Palm Springs International ShortFest, received Special Jury Award at the 68th San Sebastian International Film Festival, Filmmaker of the Future Award at the Rhode Island International Film Festival, and selected for the CAA Moebius Showcase, LA Shorts, AFI Fest, and many more.
