Bio

Danny Lee was recently featured in Paper Magazine’s 10th annual Beautiful People issue, highlighting him as one of the writer/directors to watch in the near future. He cut his teeth at Lions Gate Films where he was instrumental in the production of films such as Monster’s Ball, Confidence, Shattered Glass, and Rules of Attraction. He later formed his own production company Calico Arts, which is currently in pre-production with three features: Backpackers with Evan Ross, Don’t Call Me Gerry Cooney, and Winter War.

In 2006, Lee wrote and directed his narrative debut King of Hollywood, a dark comedy about a street hustler trying to make it in Tinseltown. The film stars Ice-T and Ike Turner. Lee has directed and edited music videos for Sa-Ra Creative Partners (on Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. label), Substance Abuse, and Kool Keith. He is currently in post-production with his newest television project The Clinic. Lee’s other interests include, but are not limited to, electronic music, street art, and the occasional rolled cigarette.
