Bio

Danielle Ellen is from a Connecticut military family of six. A Columbia graduate, she won the Van Rensselaer Poetry Prize as a creative writing and neuroscience undergraduate. At Oxford, she completed her Master’s in creative writing. Ellen co-wrote the sci-fi short The Quantified Self, which premiered at the Atlanta Film Festival, and has co-translated several plays, the first of which won the Playwrights Guild of Canada award for Best New Comedy. Before moving to LA, she lived in the Middle East, where she taught at Cornell’s Qatar campus and was selected for the inaugural Doha Film Institute Series Lab.
