Bio

Dana Jackson has over a decade of experience in all aspects of filmmaking, including development, production and marketing. Jackson was a Chemical Bank Scholar and on the Dean’s List at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she graduated in 1990 with a B.F.A. in Film/Theatre and a minor in Business. While at NYU, she produced the feature-length student project, Katrina, directed by Denver Beattie. After graduation, Jackson worked as an assistant at the Edward R. Pressman Film Corporation and Clein + White Public Relations. Relocating to Los Angeles in 1991, Jackson worked at the William Morris Agency before a five-year stint at Castle Rock Entertainment, where she rose to the rank of Director of Development. During that time, Jackson worked with writers, directors and producers on dozens of major feature film releases, and was instrumental in securing the distribution rights to the independent films The Spitfire Grill and Palmetto.

In 1997, Jackson was named Senior Vice President of Hunt/Tavel Productions, the Sony-based production company headed by actor/producer Helen Hunt and producer Connie Tavel. She established a slate of projects at a number of studios, including Disney, Fox 2000, Artisan, Paramount, Sony and Warner Brothers, and also secured financing for the independent feature Timepiece. Jackson’s current project is Kurt Voelker’s script, Divorce Mommy Sandwich, which she is producing with Industry Entertainment.
