Bio

Claudia Unger is a commercial and fine art photographer. Her clients include: Mandalay Bay, Walker Zanger and Guess? In June of 2011, she produced and photographed eight episodes for the awareness campaign Under One Sun. The goal is to shine a light on the rapid decline of big cats living in the wild. The project is produced by Wandering Films partnered with National Geographic in collaboration with the music of Moby. Her untitled portrait of the woman farmer in Southern India was the winner of the Turning Silver, Women In Photography Award in 2006. For her fine art work, Unger lived with a Bedouin Tribe in the Sinai Desert of Egypt for three months. Thereafter, she completed a photo series on nomadic families and was awarded by Women in Photography International Organization for Outstanding Achievements in Fine Art Photography. Her exhibition in Dusseldorf, The Name of the Land, of twenty-seven prints, sold in its entirety. Born in Germany, Unger moved to California to study photography at Art Center College of Design. For two consecutive years, she was recognized by the internationally prestigious Lucie Awards. She is both the cinematographer and producer on the documentary feature film, Mary Woronov, Cult Queen from Warhol to Corman.
