Bio

Born and raised in Brazil, Camila Martins later moved to the United States to attend college in North Carolina, graduating with a degree in Advertising and Psychology. Now based in Los Angeles, she has been working extensively in TV commercial productions for clients such as Boeing, Proctor&Gamble, and MacDonald’s. In 2006, Martins won her first award as a documentary filmmaker for Chains, a look at the history of hip-hop from its Jamaican roots to the streets of Bronx. Chains was featured on Current TV and CurrentTV.com. She has also served as a programmer for the Los Angeles Short Film Festival and is currently developing two other documentary projects to be shot in South Africa and Brazil. Martins was part of the 2008 Tribeca All Access program with her project The Row.
