Bio

Cady is a filmmaker and freelance journalist covering immigration across the Americas. She has shot, produced, and directed short documentaries for NBC, The New Humanitarian, and various independent production companies. She met Magdiel, Mirna, and Joshua–the participants of her forthcoming documentary feature, What We Carry–while covering the migrant caravan in Mexico in 2018. She is an International Women’s Media Foundation fellow and grantee, and a Women In Film/Sundance Institute Financing Intensive fellow. Before becoming a journalist, Cady directed an international education nonprofit in Washington, DC, called One World Youth Project.
