Bio

Anu Pradhan is a recent MFA graduate in directing from the American Film Institute. A Fulbright Scholar in Kathak dance, she began her career with a love for storytelling through live performance that quickly expanded to include film. Prior to her time at AFI, Anu lived in Bombay, India, where she trained in classical dance, acted in films and on stage, and spearheaded a commercial production company’s television division by producing non-fiction programs for national networks. Anu wrote and directed the Sloan Award-winning short film Dharini, also selected by AFI to represent its Conservatory at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival. Most recently, Anu was the writers’ assistant on the NBC Universal/USA Networks show The Starter Wife. She went on to shadow the director, Lesli Linka Glatter, following an episode of the show from the writers’ room through prep, production, and post.
