Bio

Anne Madden was born in Germany to an American diplomat and a Vietnamese artist. She is a winner of the $10,000 Martin Ritt screenwriting award. Her AFI thesis film First Daughter screened at 22 festivals including Boston, Miami, New Orleans, New York, and Camerimage Poland. The film won 13 awards including the Dore Schary Award, the James Stewart Award, the Grand Prize at the Angelus Awards, and the Lumiere Award. Madden was a segment producer for Quincy Jones’ We Are the Future, a 4-hour concert held at the Circus Maximus in Rome to benefit children of war. She has worked as a wardrobe stylist on commercials, editorial, advertising and fashion, styling subjects as diverse as George Clooney, Anjelica Huston, Samuel L. Jackson, and John Hurt. She chose a career in film while studying with film theorist Gilberto Perez at Sarah Lawrence College.
