Bio

Adelina Borets is a director and producer born in Mariupol, in eastern Ukraine. Her documentary debut, The Wormwood Star (2018), won First Prize and the Audience Award at the 15th EKOFILM International Environmental Film Festival and Special mention – International Ethnographic Film Festival OKO, Cameraimage edition in Toruń, Poland. Her narrative short, Eden House (2021) has received multiple accolades, including Best Feature Film at the Węgiel Film Festival in Katowice and a Special Jury Prize at Kyiv Critics Week. Borets is now developing several projects, including both fiction and documentaries, among which is the anticipated Flowers of Ukraine. Her body of work reflects a profound commitment to storytelling that engages with critical contemporary issues. Borets is the founder and director of STROOM, an organization producing films, music videos, exhibitions.
