Adelina Anthony has 20 years of experience in acting, directing, writing and producing for theater, which have garnered her numerous nominations, honors and awards. Forgiving Heart, her first short film as a writer-director, debuted recently at the Outfest Fusion LGBT Queer People of Color Film Festival as part of their Gala Screening. Through Project Involve her short screenplay, You’re Dead To Me, is currently in pre-production and will screen at the Los Angeles Film Festival. Anthony, with Marisa Becerra, is the co-founder/producer of a newly formed independent film company, AdeRisa Productions, based in Ventura, CA. The company is dedicated to producing bold, entertaining and high caliber queer people of color films with an emphasis on X/Chicana stories. To this extent, they are in the process of producing her first feature film, Bruising for Besos (based on her critically acclaimed solo play). This film follows the story of Yoli, a queer Xicana daughter forced to face her violent past. The company will launch a fundraising campaign in May and will shoot this fall.
