Bio
Aaron I. Naar is an award-winning filmmaker based in Los Angeles, CA. His documentary, Los Hombres del Lago (The Men of the Lake), premiered at HotDocs in 2008 and went on to screen in several hundred venues across South America as part of the international environmental educational series, Planet.Move. An accomplished short narrative and non-fiction producer, Naar’s film Kelp premiered at SXSW in 2010, won the Grand Jury Prize for Best Short Film at the Philadelphia Film Festival in 2010 and is currently available through IndiePix Films. In 2011, Naar won the Pacific Pioneer Fund for emerging documentary filmmakers and was shortlisted for the San Francisco Film Society Documentary Film Fund for his feature length documentary, Mateo, now in post-production. Recently, Naar has also been directing and editing documentary-style commercials for clients such as Google, Expedia and the US Olympic Commission. A graduate of Vassar College, Naar currently serves as a director and editor at Editree Inc.
