Defying the odds in 1960s America, a young gas station attendant and a college graduate turn a chance meeting into a lifetime of possibilities.

Synopsis

A poignant exploration of how a single “yes” can alter the course of our lives in an instant. Arthur, a humble gas station attendant, and Beatrix, a bright college graduate, take fate into their own hands in 1960s America, watching as one moment unfolds into a lifetime of shared dreams, heartache, and resilience. Set against the backdrop of racial tension, their journey reflects the unspoken challenges of being a mixed-race couple in a time of division.

From the joy of new beginnings to the devastation of war, a miscarriage, and the complexities of adoption, Arthur and Beatrix’s love story captures the full spectrum of the human experience. Each small, seemingly ordinary moment takes on greater significance, revealing the strength it takes to overcome everyday trials. This is a story about finding hope in the hardest moments, embracing the unknown, and recognizing the beauty in life’s most nuanced, often overlooked moments.

Meet the Filmmakers

Britine Banks — Writer/Producer/Actor
Britnie Banks is a once clumsy gymnast from the swamps of Florida, who moved to L.A. to study improv and acting. Her creative roles expanded into writing and creative producing, where she now has award-winning short films that have screened in festivals all over the world and are available to be streamed online. Her short film FLYBY premiered at Tribeca in 2019 and won the Grand Jury Award at Dances With Films. It then went on to have an Oscar-qualifying theatrical run. She worked directly under the tutelage of the founder and CEO of Come What May Productions where she honed her skill and was able to start her independent company, B Truth Productions. Here she has worked with companies such as ATARI, NBCUniversal, Deadline, and Dark Matter Studios. Britnie is committed to shining a light on stories that offer up opportunities to open conversations. Whether that is through acting, writing, producing, or just sitting in nature, she understands how the art of storytelling not only inspires but is a conduit to connect humanity on the deepest levels.
