We offer a range of international programs – both in Los Angeles and abroad – designed to connect and uplift filmmakers from Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America. Film Independent’s International Programs foster networks between U.S. industry leaders and mid-career film and TV professionals around the world.

Over the past decade, we’ve launched a diverse array of intensive artist development programs and residencies for mid-career writers, directors and producers in film and television. Through partnerships with organizations in the U.S. and internationally, we’ve brought filmmakers to Los Angeles for immersive, hands-on experiences. In addition, we collaborate with global partners to organize workshops, screenings and masterclasses around the world.

The community we have built through these programs includes filmmakers from: Algeria, Argentina, Australia, Bangladesh, Colombia, Ecuador, Egypt, Finland, Hong Kong, Hungary, Jordan, India, Italy, Iraq, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kosovo, Lebanon, Mexico, Morocco, Namibia, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Taiwan, Tunisia, Turkey, Uganda, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates and Zimbabwe.
