Lukita Maxwell
Lukita Maxwell stars in Apple TV+’s hit comedy series Shrinking, written & produced by Jason Segel and Ted Lasso’s Bill Lawrence & Brett Goldstein. She stars alongside an amazing cast including Jason Segel, Harrison Ford, Jessica Williams, Luke Tennie and Christa Miller. The series follows Jimmy (Segel), a grieving therapist who starts to break the rules and tell his clients exactly what he thinks. Ignoring his training and ethics, Jimmy finds himself making huge, tumultuous changes to people’s lives – including his own. Lukita plays Alice, Jimmy’s daughter.
In film, Lukita stars opposite John Cho and Katherine Waterston in Sony & Blumhouse’s upcoming thriller They Listen, from writer & director Chris Weitz, set to premiere in theatres in 2024. She also has a role in FilmNation’s The Young Wife from director Tayarisha Poe, starring Aya Cash, Kiersey Clemons, Kelly Marie Tran and Connor Pablo. Lukita will also be seen starring in Jared Isaac’s independent coming-of-age love story Autumn Summer, opposite Mark McKenna.
Previous work includes a series regular role in the HBO Max series Genera+ion, from creators Zelda & Daniel Barnz. Executive produced by the Golden Globe-winning creative force Lena Dunham,. along with Ben Barnz, the show follows the lives of modern teenagers as they grapple with self-identity and acceptance in the digital age. The group’s exploration of modern sexuality deeply tests entrenched beliefs about life, love and the nature of family in their conservative community. Prior to that, Lukita recurred on the first season of ABC’s comedy Speechless.
Born in Jakarta, Indonesia, Lukita began her career on stage at the Tony Award-winning Utah Shakespeare Festival, where she won their annual competition performing a monologue from the classic play Henry VI. She holds a deep passion for photography, art and design. Outside of acting, Lukita is also the editor-in-chief of an online magazine called Sunstroke.
