Think Early: Marketing Strategies for Producers

This is an in-person event at Film Independent’s offices. Those attending must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination OR a negative PCR test result (within 48 hours) to enter, and wear a mask at all times.

Since film and television marketing and promotion are typically associated with distribution, the planning process usually starts very late, often when a project has wrapped production, or even later – just a few months before launch. But the longer you wait, the more opportunities you lose to accommodate changes, and better connect with your audience.

We’re pleased to welcome sales agent Sarah Calderón to Film Independent, who will explain what producers can (and should) do early in the process to plan for a successful release. What are the best elements that an early marketing strategy for film and TV contains? How can we better shape content in the development stage and during shooting to be audience-friendly? How do we use early stage strategies and materials to collaborate with future partners? Sarah will help you answer these questions and much more.
