Taking Flight: The Basics of Working with Drones
Bonus! This event will be available for Members to Watch On Demand. You can read all about this brand new Member benefit in our blog or, if you’re ready to jump right in, you can RSVP here or click the button at the top of this page.
It’s a bird, it’s a plane… nope, it’s a drone! Come learn the basics of working with drones, whether you want to become a pilot or hire one for your next shoot. Even if you’re working with a small budget, aerial drone shots can help add production value to your film and open up visual possibilities that were otherwise unimaginable to the independent filmmaker just a few years ago.
Sarah Phillips from Team Dirty Drone will discuss the process of becoming a FAA-certified drone pilot and cover what you’ll need to know before you fly in Los Angeles, including permits, insurance and strategy. Phillips will cover what types of drones will get you the look you’re aiming for and explain terminology so you can confidently ask for the shots you want.
Validated parking in the building garage after 5:30 pm.
