On a Shoestring: Ultra Micro-Budget Filmmaking, Part 2

Join us for the second event in this three-part series that will focus on ultra micro-budget productions. Each event will feature in-depth conversations with the teams behind successful films made with passion, dedication and determination, on shoestring budgets.

On Tuesday, April 15, filmmaker Toby Jones will discuss his upcoming film AJ Goes to the Dog Park, which had its world premiere at Fantastic Fest in 2024. Filmmaker and consultant Liz Manashil will join the panel to discuss the process of bringing Toby’s unique vision to life and the creativity required to see that vision fully realized on a micro budget. From pre-production to post-production, from festival premiere to distribution, Toby and Liz will share important insights so independent filmmakers can learn how to take their stories to the big screen without breaking the bank.

Featuring:
Toby Jones (writer/director, AJ Goes to the Dog Park)
Liz Manashil (Filmmaker and Distribution Consultant)

Moderated by Felix Werner (HieronyVision)

About the Moderator
Felix Werner works as an independent media financier, producer, distributor and director. He designed Modern Media Company to have the ability to produce content in a wide variety of styles, formats and budgets, with the goal of shepherding them from development through the distribution and marketing process. His latest venture, HieronyVision, is a new creative ecosystem for independent movies, music and art. It also features a microbudget incubator program to help launch young filmmakers.

Felix’s interest in film goes back to early childhood. He grew up surrounded and inspired by noted European and Hollywood artists. His career began in the Education and Film Departments of the L.A. County Museum of Art. He then gained firsthand knowledge of production through a variety of jobs on studio and independent film sets.
