Members-Only Screening: On Swift Horses

Film Independent Members, in partnership with KCRW you and a guest are invited to join us for a theatrical screening of On Swift Horses, followed by an in-person conversation with director Daniel Minahan and actor Will Poulter.

Producer Mollye Asher is a Film Independent Artist Development Fellow, having taken part in Fast Track in 2012 and the 2014 Producing Lab.

Muriel and her husband Lee are beginning a bright new life in California when he returns from the Korean War. But their newfound stability is upended by the arrival of Lee’s charismatic brother, Julius, a wayward gambler with a secret past. A dangerous love triangle quickly forms. When Julius takes off in search of the young card cheat he’s fallen for, Muriel’s longing for something more propels her into a secret life of her own, gambling on racehorses and exploring a love she never dreamed possible.

The film was an official selection of the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival and the 2025 SXSW Film & TV Festival.

From Sony Pictures Classics, On Swift Horses will be released in theaters on April 25.
