Members-Only Screening: I Used to Be Funny

Arts Circle, Film Lover and Secret (shhh…) Members, you and a guest are invited to join us for a theatrical screening of I Used to Be Funny, followed by an in-person conversation with writer/director/executive producer Ally Pankiw.

Ally Pankiw and producer James Weyman took part in our Fast Track program in 2018. Ally also participated in the 2018 Directing Lab.

Beverages will be served prior to the screening, starting at 6:30 pm PT.

Filmmaker Ally Pankiw is a Film Independent Fellow, who participated in the 2018 Directing Lab.

An aspiring stand-up comedian and au pair struggling with PTSD decides whether or not to join the search for a missing teenage girl she used to nanny.

In 2023, I Used To Be Funny was an official selection of SXSW, and the Vancouver International Film Festival, Stockholm International Film Festival, and Calgary International Film Festival, as well as Inside Out Toronto LGBT Film Festival and the Cinefest Sudbury International Film Festival.

From Utopia, I Used To Be Funny will be released in theaters on June 7 in New York City and June 14 in Los Angeles.
