Includes a conversation with actor Adam Driver

Adam Driver is the title character in writer/director Jim Jarmusch’s new film; a drama that plays like a dream parable. Paterson (Driver) is a New Jersey bus driver with an almost symbiotic attachment to his hometownhe take his work and his route very seriously; his job is to get people home. His own biggest thrill is to get home to his loving baker wife Laura (Golshifteh Farahani) and their dog, who he take on his walks to the neighborhood bar, where the calm pooch sits pensively outside on his leash. But he leads another life as a poet whose workdeeply felt reflections on his lifeis written in a notebook only Laura sees. The boundary that Paterson keeps between his writing and his life is thinhe lives like an artist, with a keen observer’s eye to all that goes on around him, and Jarmusch, working for the fourth time with cinematographer Frederick Elmes (the films they’ve made together in the past twenty-five years include Night on Earth, Coffee and Cigarettes, and Broken Flowers) stages the scenario so delicately and earnestly that it could be something from the pages of his protagonist’s journals. Paterson star Driver will be present to discuss the film after the screening.
