The 2016 Film Independent Spirit Awards are Tomorrow! Don’t Miss Out!
If you by chance find yourself at the top of the Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica Pier this sunny Friday morning (who doesn’t love a brunch time Ferris Wheel?) be sure to wear some sunglasses—it’s a good bet you’ll be blinded by the reflection coming off the micro-city of gleaming-white tents and trailers sitting just north of the pier.
But don’t be alarmed! These tents and trailers aren’t part of some nefarious, X-Files-style government conspiracy. No—it’s the 2016 Film Independent Spirit Awards!
That’s right, we’re one short day away from the 2016 Spirit Awards, and everyone involved—broadcasters, press, nominees, fans—is buzzing with excitement as the Spirit Awards campus hums along toward show time like a busy beehive.
Hosts Kate McKinnon and Kumail Nanjiani kick the show off at 2:00pm PT / 5:00pm ET tomorrow, February 27 on IFC—so don’t panic, there’s still plenty of time to set the DVR just as soon as you get off that damn wheel.
Kate and Kumail will be joined by a who’s-who of awesome and amazing presenters. Some are brand-new to the Spirit Awards stage, and some are familiar faces that we can’t wait to see again. Here they are, in alphabetical order:

Lastly, no party would be worth the sunken cost of red solo cups without a totally kick-ass house band, so we’re trilled to announce that Robert Schwartzman and Rooney will be this year’s Spirit Awards house band!
It just goes to show you that anything can happen at the Spirit Awards. So be sure to tune-in on IFC and follow #SpiritAwards on social media—don’t miss out!
