Beneath the Harvest Sky: Distribution and Marketing Case Study
Award-winning filmmakers Aron Gaudet and Gita Pullapilly, who were recently named in Variety’s “10 Directors to Watch,” will provide a hands-on, detailed description of their process making their narrative feature debut, Beneath The Harvest Sky, from concept through distribution. Beneath The Harvest Sky had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, its U.S. premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, and was acquired by Tribeca Films.
Gaudet and Pullapilly worked with a team from Harvard Business School to create an innovative marketing and distribution plan to maximize the film’s visibility in the marketplace and reduce the risk for investors. This included relationships with TERRA Chips, JetBlue, and Amazon to help promote the film nationally and internationally. Beneath The Harvest Sky was just released on Blu-ray, DVD, iTunes and Amazon Instant Watch. Learn first-hand how key decisions made in pre-production, production and post-production allowed these filmmakers creative, low-cost avenues to leverage national partnerships aimed at garnering visibility for their project.
