Aidy Bryant to Return as Host of the 40th Film Independent Spirit Awards
We are pleased to announce Aidy Bryant will be hosting the 40th Film Independent Spirit Awards. But… Bryant will have a tall task ahead of her. She’ll have to follow in the footsteps of last year’s beloved host: herself.
After making headlines with her 2024 stint, she’s braving a second round. Bryant joins the illustrious ranks of multi-year hosts like John Waters, Samuel L. Jackson, Nick Kroll & John Mulaney, Aubrey Plaza, Jennifer Tilly, Sarah Silverman, and of course Buck Henry.
The Emmy nominated SNL and Shrill actress and comedian has been busy since last year’s show. She’s joining the new season of Apple TV+’s Platonic opposite Rose Byrne and Seth Rogen, and has joined the all-star stage ensemble for All In: Comedy About Love By Simon Rich, which opens this December.
“The Sexual Woman” herself will take the reigns Saturday, February 22, 2025, and you can watch along on the IMDb and Film Independent YouTube channels, and across other social platforms, beginning at 2:00 pm PT.
