The Directors Close-Up series offers filmmakers and film lovers the unique opportunity to hear from and interact with top talent in independent film and television, and this year we’re celebrating the directors, writers and creators nominated for the 2023 Film Independent Spirit Awards.

DCU – featuring an impressive lineup of storytellers from around the globe – will take place over the course of one month, beginning with seven online events, followed by three in-person events at our new home, the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills, in partnership with Film Independent Presents.

Individuals who purchase passes after 8:00 am PT on February 1 are not guaranteed live access to the first virtual event of the series. Masks are recommended for in-person events, but not required. All aspects of the Director’s Close-Up series (schedule, format, participants, etc.) are subject to change without prior notice.
