Maria Altamirano is a Peruvian-American producer whose work has screened at festivals worldwide, including Cannes, SXSW, San Sebastián, and Slamdance. Her credits include the feature Son of Monarchs, which premiered at the 2020 Morelia International Film Festival, and the award-winning short Nettles, currently streaming on the Criterion Channel. A Film Independent Producing Lab fellow, Maria is developing All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt, a Cinereach, SFFILM, Tribeca, and IFP-supported project. Prior to filmmaking, Maria was Market Research Manager at Paramount Pictures where she generated development and marketing insights for the studio’s slate. She holds an MBA and MFA from NYU.
