Bio

With a bold vision and a passion for uncovering untold stories, Loria King creates documentary films and photographs that illuminate the complexities of race, gender, culture, and ethnicity. She amplifies underrepresented voices through storytelling, challenges false narratives, and reveals profound truths.

As a member of the advisory board for the Global Institute for Black Girls in Film & Media and a Changemaker for Black Stock Footage, Loria is both an advocate and educator who teaches filmmaking to students across the U.S., Africa, Asia, and South America.

Her project, Black America Is…, explores Black identity and was selected for the 2020 Film Independent/CNN Docuseries Intensive. Her current works include CURRENT: A Descendant’s Journey for Truth and Ink Trails, which explore African American migration, family history, and identity through letters and oral histories.
