Bio

Michelle Sy is a producer based in Los Angeles. Her credits include Miramax Films’ “Finding Neverland,” starring Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet. The film was nominated for seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and won for Best Score. While working alongside producers Matt Damon and Ben Affleck on “Stolen Summer,” starring Aidan Quinn, she appeared in the first season of the HBO reality series “Project Greenlight,” which chronicled the making of the film.

Her current slate includes a heist comedy that she set up at Lionsgate, “The Met Gala Heist” at New Line, and a television series based on real-life lawyer Carrie Goldberg in development at Sony Pictures Television.

In the non-fiction arena, Michelle is a producer on “Around the World in 80 Beats,” a documentary about female rappers around the world that she is developing along with Kerry Washington’s Simpson Street and Emmy-nominated producer Stephanie Meurer; Raphael Saadiq is Composer/Music Producer. She produced the feature film documentary, “Fan-Demanium,” an intimate look at the World Cup through the eyes of ten soccer-obsessed fans, as well as two seasons of reality web series Project: Pet Slim Down.

Prior to becoming an independent producer, Michelle served as Vice President of Production & Development at The Kennedy/Marshall Company, overseeing the development of “The Diving Bell and The Butterfly.” She began her career at Miramax Films, rising from assistant to Director of Development. She is a graduate of Brown University, with a B.A. in Organizational Behavior & Management.
