Bio
Mary-Lyn Chambers is an award winning filmmaker born in Suva, Fiji, and raised in Wellington, New Zealand. Her politically awake, artistic and compassionate childhood informed her career path in film and media — The art form that most powerfully impacts awareness and change.
Chambers has worked with many prestigious Festivals including the Los Angeles Film Festival, the Starz Denver International Film Festival and the Doha Tribeca Film Festival, in Qatar. Between 2004 and 2013, Chambers worked in the operations logistics team for the Independent Spirit Awards and eventually became the Associate Producer.
As a writer/producer/director, Chambers has made three short films, The Twenty Seventh Hour, The Rain Has Forgotten US, and In Confidence, all traveled to major Film Festivals. She is currently developing her first feature film as writer/director, entitled Something Pretty Between Us, set in modern-day Qatar. Chambers was named Film Independent Project Involve Fellow in directing.
She currently resides in Los Angeles, California and maintains strong ties to New Zealand and Qatar.
