Bio

Tamar Halpern is an MFA graduate of USC film school and a founder of CitySearch. She’s written and directed four features as well commercials, shorts and documentaries. Variety called her second feature, SHELF LIFE, “whip smart” saying that it “taps into a fresh source for American comedy.” Variety called her third feature YOUR NAME HERE “a good natured family comedy” and Defamer called it a “teen rock musical and mockumentary for the whole family.” Her most recent feature was based on the acclaimed young adult book JEREMY FINK AND THE MEANING OF LIFE. Tamar adapted it for the screen and directed. It stars Mira Sorvino, Joe Pantaliano and Michael Urie with music by Edie Brickell. Tamar and her blacklisted script EZZY FISH were in the FIND Directors Lab and she hopes EZZY FISH will be her next project.
