Bio

Sam Fleischner is a New York based filmmaker. His first narrative feature, Wah Do Dem, won the 2009 Target Filmmaker Award at the Los Angeles Film Festival and is being released Summer 2010. Previous projects include Cave Flower, an award winning short film about a homeless elevator operator, and Ten Trees, a 60 minute, real-time film about ten trees getting turned into plywood. Fleischner used that same plywood – that wood exclusively – to construct a movie theater in which the film was projected (exhibited at the 2008 Piccolo Spoleto Art Festival in Charleston, S.C.). In addition to his own projects, Fleischner has worked as a cinematographer on shorts, features, music videos, and commercials. His work can be seen at howfollowswhat.net.
