Bio
Los Angeles native Mia Trachinger earned an MFA in Directing from the UCLA School of Film, Theater and Television. After making several award-winning short films, Mia wrote and directed the feature film Bunny, which went on to screen in film festivals around the world, including Toronto, San Sebastian, The Hamptons, and Los Angeles. Bunny earned two Independent Spirit Award nominations (John Cassavetes Award and Someone To Watch Award) and won the Maverick Spirit Award at the Cinequest Film Festival. In 2003, Bunny received a national release through Madstone Films. Mia’s sophomore feature, Reversion, made its world premiere at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival and won the Indie Express Award at the St. Louis International Film Festival. Shortly there after, Mia participated in Film Independent’s Screenwriter’s Lab with the psychological thriller What Remains. In 2010, Mia directed her near future script Exposure, for ITVS’ FUTURESTATES series.
