Bio

Felipe Holguin was born in Bogota, Colombia. He began his studies in his city in Media, and then moved to Sao Paulo, Brazil where he finished with an emphasis in Filmmaking. He completed a Masters in Directing for Film in New York and Los Angeles. Since then, Holguin has written, directed and edited numerous short films and worked as 1st Assistant Director, Director of Photography, Producer and Editor in various media. Manana (Tomorrow) a short film he wrote and directed and shot in Cartagena, has participated in many festivals including the HBO New York International Latino Film Festival, the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival and the 27th Festival de Cine de Bogota¡ where it won an Honorable Mention and an award in Festival de Cine Kolibri in Bolivia. His second short film Salvador received great reviews and support from entities such as CBS Radford Studios and private sponsorships. The film was produced under his production company Cumbia Films. Holguin’s music video, Impossible, for emerging rock star Diamante won the Best Teenage Music Video at the Indie Music Channel awards in 2012.

Currently he is directing commercial spots for clients such as Verizon, Ford, Hershey’s, Heineken and AMPM, among others. He is currently working on two feature length scripts.
