Bio
Elyce Strong was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. She attended Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, majoring in English with a concentration in Mass Communications. Upon graduation she began her professional career at CNN where she held a variety of positions, in particular assignment editor and associate producer/writer. She also worked as a writer for a local news station. During this time Elyce began investigating other types of writing and enrolled in her first screenwriting class.
After moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career as a TV and film writer, Elyce entered the University of Southern California’s Professional Writing Program, in order to fully hone her writing chops. She graduated in 2002 with her master’s degree. In addition to the writing program at USC, Elyce has participated in other industry-celebrated programs, including the Guy Hanks/Marvin Miller Writing Program (Cosby Writing Program), NATPE’s LATV Festival Diversity Fellowship, the FOX Diversity Writer’s Program, the NAMIC Writers’ Workshop, Film Independent Producers Lab, and most recently, the Producers Guild of America’s 2009 Producing Workshop.
Elyce has also written a number of freelance television scripts, namely ABC Family’s Lincoln Heights. She has also written for many magazines and online websites, penning articles on celebrity lifestyle, dating, and politics, and is currently writing political news and editorial articles covering the Obama administration for Examiner.com.
