Ellie Wen was born in Hong Kong and moved to Los Angeles when she was eight years old. She attended Stanford University and graduated in 2009 with a BA in Drama and a Minor in Sociology. In the summers during college, Wen completed summer internships in all aspects of the entertainment industry. This included internships at Handsomecharlie Films, Principato-Young Entertainment, Betty Mae Casting, Neo Art & Logic, Radiant Productions, Cherry Sky Films, Right of Way Films, and Abrams Artists Agency. Upon graduation from Stanford, Wen moved back to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. However, she soon found herself writing the script for WHITE FROG with her mom Fabienne, and subsequently began producing it. WHITE FROG is an emotional family drama starring Joan Chen (Lust, Caution), BD Wong (Law & Order: SVU), Harry Shum Jr. (Glee), and Booboo Stewart (The Twilight Saga).

While producing WHITE FROG, Wen worked as an assistant at Creative Artists Agency. She spent her first year as an assistant in the Motion Picture Talent department and her second in the Film Finance & Sales department at CAA. She currently works for the Co-President of CBS Films. Wen aspires to be an actress/producer/writer/director and has several projects in development.

At the conclusion of the 2012 Project Involve, Wen was named the 2012 Barbara Boyle Scholar.
